Slide About Weight Distribution

Towing without a Hayman Reese Weight Distribution System can cause unnerving trailer sway, reduced steering and braking responsiveness, less traction and misaligned headlamps. Over time you may also notice a reduction in fuel economy and increased tyre wear. Hayman Reese Weight Distribution Systems improve safety, handling, control and comfort when towing.

When using a Weight Distribution System, the ball weight remains the same, however, the load is evenly distributed across all of the axles. This restores the tow vehicle to its correct operating balance, carrying the caravan rather than dragging the load.

Classic kits are best suited to trailers, camper trailers and caravans that have a 4” high A-frame, or 5” and 6” high A-frames where the coupling is positioned at the bottom of the A-frame.

Standard kits are better suited to trailers, camper trailers and caravans that require more clearance around the base of the A-frame. Perfect for 5” or 6” high A-frames with the coupling positioned in the middle or top of the A-Frame.

The intermediate system uses a four-bar (4 x 19mm) system and has a working range between 80kg and 135kg ball weight. This system is ideal for small-sized caravans.

A mini hitch is appropriate for light towing purposes only and can redistribute ball weights up to 82kg. The mini hitch fits easily onto the towbar tongue and the spring bars can be adjusted with the appropriate chain link.
